A Good Report

Today was the day for my annual gynecological visit.  I don't mind this, since given my medical history, I am happy that drs are paying attention to how I am doing.  Plus, having to only have an annual appointment seems a treat, since for so many years, I had to go fairly often.

My gynecologist is a wonderful woman, too, so that helps.  She is personable, but also very thorough and really pays attention - not just medically, but otherwise.  Except for the obvious medical part of the visit, it's like checking in with a friend.  I know when I had surgery, one of the nurses told me that she was a patient, and that a lot of the other nurses went to this gynecologist as well.  Seems to me that a recommendation from nurses is a pretty good thing for a doctor, right?

Fortunately, today I got a good report, and unless something unexpected happens, I don't have to see her again until next summer.  I'll take it.

The down side was making my way there in the heat and humidity.  Because I know that I have a hard time with it, I try to take my time getting from one place to the other in weather like this.  I had my sunscreen on, and my humongous hat and sunglasses.  I'm sure people who saw me thought I was a celebrity ...

The other thing I did was take a bottle of cold water with me.  By the time I got to the dr's office, it was nearly empty, but it definitely helped.  Most people think that winter is hard, since you have to wear so many layers of clothing, but it takes me just as long to get organized to go in the severe summer weather!

The other good news is that I don't have another appointment with any drs until September, so the rest of the summer I don't even have to think about it.  And that is the best news of all!

Stay cool, and don't forget to take care of yourself.

Hooray for a good Doctor report. I went last week myself and love that I don't have to go back. Stay cool and drink lots of water during those hot days.
